Discover the Market Kitchen

There’s a new place in Gasoline Alley to enjoy delicious food and beverages. Located in the north end of the market, the Market Kitchen features five restaurants, a bakery, a coffee shop and Craft Beer Commonwealth.

Get your groceries, then grab a bite

Kick back, relax and grab a local brew or a bite to eat in the Market Kitchen at Gasoline Alley Farmers’ Market. With five small, locally owned restaurants in one place, there are food options for the whole family – even the fussy ones! We have tables on the main market floor and seating upstairs on the mezzanine. When the main market is closed, you can access the Market Kitchen through the glass doors at the north end of the building.

Home of Craft Beer Commonwealth

Red Deer’s newest brewery and taproom Craft Beer Commonwealth is located in the Market Kitchen. Celebrating all things Alberta, they are focused on showcasing and collaborating with other Central Alberta breweries, malt growers and hop growers. You can’t get more local than that! You might even see the brewing in action while you sip on your beer!

Our Restaurants

There are five restaurants located in the Market Kitchen, each with a diverse and unique menu. The original Longhorn restaurant is based in Ponoka, and their new market restaurant Longhorn Eatery is serving up delicious burgers, salads and wings. You may know them from the food truck, now Taco Monster has launched their first physical location with their signature tacos, as well as tots and lemonade. The Wooden Shoe (originally from Gull Lake) has croquettes, tosties and Irish fries on the menu as well as all your Dutch favourites! Moly’z F&M Mashawee is serving up Mediterranean & Middle Eastern delights like falafel, hummus, dolma, and so much more! The newest restaurant to join us is Turmeric Kitchen.

Birdy Coffee is serving their artisan coffee at Craft Beer Commonwealth. And in fact, they are roasting their coffee beans on site.

You will also be able to find the Organic Ancient Grain Bakery by Dovganyuk in the Market Kitchen on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They were a popular vendor in the main market, and they are making and baking on site from their new kitchen!

Our patio is open for the summer season

Is there anything better than sitting out on a patio sipping on a cold brew? Situated on the west side of the market, our patio gets all of the afternoon and evening sun. We have a roof and heaters, so you can sit out whatever the weather! It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a beverage and bite to eat.
